Two people have died as a result of a head on crash in Summit Township Thursday afternoon.
The crash occurred just after 2 p.m. on Chicora Road (Route 68) at Linwood Drive near the top of Lick Hill.
According to State Police, 19-year-old Jacob Bowser of East Brady was traveling west when he crossed into the opposite lane for unknown reasons. Bowser’s car then impacted head on with a truck driven by 50-year-old James Hipple of Sligo.
Bowser was flown to UPMC Presbyterian for treatment of major injuries where he was pronounced dead. Hipple was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital where he was also pronounced dead.
