A longtime local businessman has passed away.
Robert James “Bob” Parker was a lifelong Chicora resident and a highly respected Chicora businessman. He opened Parker’s Appliances in 1948 along with his father and brothers. The business is now operated by his son and grandson.
Bob died peacefully on Saturday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler, according to his obituary.
Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora on Tuesday, April 3 from 1pm-4pm and on 6pm-9pm and on Wednesday, April 4 from 10am-11am at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2217 Chicora Rd., Chicora, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Boomhower, church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Hemphill Cemetery,
