A local chess master is challenging enthusiasts to put him to the test and maybe learn a thing or two about the game.
Gabriel Petesch is hosting The Chess Showdown at 2 p.m. this Saturday at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center.
As many as 30 challengers ages 5 and older will have the opportunity to take on Petesch free of charge.
Then over a series of six Mondays beginning June 12th, Petesch will hold an hour long class for kids ages 6 to 14 to learn about tactics and strategies. The fee for this class is $65 for residents and registration is available online at cranberry4FUN.com/Register.
