Non-playoff driver Ross Chastain earned his first victory of the season when he held off playoff driver William Byron at Kansas Speedway Sunday. Chastain is a watermelon farmer in Georgia, and continued his tradition of breaking open a melon and taking a bite at the finish line.
Bryon took over the playoff point lead. He is six points ahead of reigning champion Ryan Blaney and Christopher Bell. Kyle Larson is 10 points back. The drivers head to the Talladega Superspeedway this Sunday.
