Two people have been charged stemming from an incident last week where a child fell out of a two-story window.
Butler City Police arrested 37-year-old Michael Blontz and his wife Ruth, also 37, on Friday and charged them both with child endangerment.
The alleged incident happened on July 3 at the couple’s West Jefferson Street home. Police believe the two were watching two children overnight when one of them- a 2-year-old- fell from a 2nd story bedroom window. The toddler allegedly landed on a concrete pad and suffered injuries including a fractured pelvis.
Police allege the couple did not immediately call for help or take the boy to the hospital. He was later taken when his Mom picked him up 12 hours later.
The window had a ‘non-functioning lock on it and could be opened with minimal force,’ according to a police criminal complaint.
