Central Electric Cooperative is continuing to restore power to approximately 10,000 customers who were without service as of Sunday morning.
Officials say that six outside crews from other Pennsylvania electric cooperatives, along with four tree trimming contractors, are assisting CEC in restoration work.
At 10am on Sunday, the company confirmed that all substation delivery points now have power. All lines will be initially patrolled for safety before substations are fully energized.
However, four additional crews from other areas have been requested to assist with repairing damages to substations that were recently energized by the power supplier. Due to the severity of the damages, total restoration of all customers could be as late as Wednesday.
CEC expects to make significant progress on Sunday and Monday. The cooperative also reminds customers to call 1-800-282-8610 to report any outages.
