Central Electric Cooperative is reminding customers to manage energy usage in this time of working and schooling from home.
A surge in home energy use could be reflected in upcoming electric bills so the CEC is sharing several money-saving tips to lower costs while maintain safety and comfort.
Residents can use sunlight whenever possible as a natural heat and light source, wash laundry with cold or warm water instead of hot, unplug appliances and electronics when not in use, air dry dishes, program the thermostat for the temperature necessary, seal air leaks, and substitute LEDs for conventional light bulbs.
CEC customers who think something might be wrong with a bill or who become aware of a scam should notify the CEC directly.
