Central Electric Cooperative is issuing another peak alert for today as temperatures are expected to rise in to the 90s.
Members are asked to turn off all non-essential electric items, especially lighting, dehumidifiers, and pool pumps. They are also asked to not set their air conditioners below 78 degrees. The peak hours for the alert are between 1-7 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service, the heat index over the weekend will reach beyond 100; making it feel extremely hot.
The cooperative provides electric to some customers in Butler County.
