As we have entered the season of carnivals and fairs, it is important to be safe on rides.
The PA Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Ride and Measurement Standards has named this Amusement Ride Safety Week and encourages riders to follow basic guidelines.
Riders should look for a registration plate on every ride, check and follow boarding restrictions, and supervise children. Riders should also always listen carefully to all instructions. Approximately 70 percent of injuries on rides occur because of rider error.
The bureau registers over 9,000 rides and trains more than 1,500 professional inspectors. To learn more, visit ridesafe.pa.gov.
