The Washington Capitals defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 in overtime last night in Game Six of their Stanley Cup Playoff Series. The Capitals won the series and will meet the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference final series. Kris Letang scored the only Penguins goal of the game. Evgeny Kuznetsove ended the Penguins two-year reign as Stanley Cup champions 5:27 into the overtime period. Penguins goaltender Matt Murray stopped 28 of 30 shots on goal.
Nashville forced a Game Seven with Winnipeg in their Stanley Cup Playoff Series following a 4-0 win last night in Winnipeg. Game Seven will be Thursday in Nashville. The winner moves on to meet the Vegas Golden Knights in the Western Conference final.
