Barletta In Butler: Congressman Stops By Butler Farm Show

U.S. Congressman Lou Barletta- who is vying for Senator Bob Casey’s seat in the U.S. Senate- is learning a lot on his bus tour across Pennsylvania.

His latest stop was the Butler Farm Show on Tuesday evening.

Accompanied by Butler County Sheriff Mike Slupe, Barletta toured the show’s exhibits and booths, and introduced himself to those attending over the course of about an hour. Barletta was ready when asked what he would do for Butler County residents if elected.

“We’re going to make sure they keep their jobs. We’re going to make sure they keep more of their own money- that we’re not wasting their tax dollars. We’re going to make the tax cuts permanent so they can spend their money on their families and in the local economy,” Barletta said. “Let’s put Pennsylvania first again.”

Barletta went on to say that’s he’s a leader and a good listener- and he believes that’s what Pennsylvanians want.

“People want leadership. People like the way the economy is going- They want that to continue,” he said. “They want to be safe. They want to make sure our boarders are secure and they want to be able to take care of their families. So I’m listening. I was a mayor for 11 years and I am also the father of four daughters so I’ve become a good listener. That’s really what you need to do when you’re out campaigning- making sure you’re hearing what the people are saying and then take that message back to Washington. That’s what I’ve done as a member of Congress and that’s what I’ll do as a United States Senator.”

After the Farm Show, Barletta’s bus traveled to the city of Butler for a private event.

Barletta is running against incumbent Senator Bob Casey in this November’s general election.
