Students in the Butler Area School District are once again teaming up to overcome disability and stigma in a spirit of inclusion.
The community is encouraged turn out Thursday at 3:30 p.m. to cheer on members of the Special Olympics Unified Sports Bocce team in their first home match of the year against Seneca Valley.
This contest will take place in the Senior High Auditorium. Teams of disabled and non-disabled students have been practicing regularly.
Special Olympics approached Butler Area School District and several others in the county about starting a team in 2017 and district administrators say the experience has been a great success.
