The Butler YMCA will participate in a national event to inspire children to stay active throughout the summer.
‘Healthy Kids Day’ will be held at YMCAs across the country. The Butler YMCA will hold an event at their facility on North Washington Street on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Research shows one in three U.S. children are obese and when summertime hits, kids will be more idle. Healthy Kids Day is an opportunity for the community to focus on what kids need to do to grow and achieve all summer long to keep their bodies, and minds, active.
Activities on Friday will include kid’s exercise classes, pool safety and games to motivate and teach families how to develop and maintain healthy routines at home throughout the summer months.
Local police and firefighters will also be there to chat with kids. The Butler Radio Network will be there as well.
