The Butler Girl’s Track & Field team placed second at the 46th Annual Baldwin Invitational Friday night. It was a great warm up for Monday’s WPIAL Team Championship at Peters Twp against Norwin, North Allegheny and Seneca Valley. The 4×800 Relay team of Chesna Tomko, Chelsey Kabel, Jen Cichra and Liz Simms opened the meet with a gold medal finish at 9:32/23 – the fastest time in the WPIAL this season. Samanatha Penrod placed second in the pole vault with a career best vault of 10-9. Liz Simms ran a season best 2:16.13 to place second. Simms also anchored the 4×400 relay with Gabby Boden, Chesna Tomko and Anna Baxter to a second place finish. Anna Baxter had a career best time of 45.76 for 3rd in the 300 Hurdles. Chelsey Kabal placed fifth in the 1600 as did Ali Altman in the high jump.
