Butler Township is taking steps in order to help residents clean up from last week’s damaging storm.
The amount of time residents are able to burn debris has been extended from the end of November to the end of December.
However, burning restrictions that were previously in place will continue to be in place- including no burning on Sundays, no burning in the streets, and no burning after 5 p.m.
The commissioners also plan to come up with a schedule for the township road crew to take the township-owned wood chipper around to different neighborhoods so residents can get rid of large branches and damaged trees.
Butler Township fire departments responded to 90 calls in the first 24 hours of the storm while Butler Township police responded to 62 calls during the same time frame.
