Although the deadline for Butler Township businesses to file Business Privilege Tax remains May 15th, the township is providing some relief.
At their meeting Monday night, the Township Commissioners approved an extension to the time local businesses can pay this tax without penalty from May 15th to July 15th.
The Commissioners also approved a 60 day amnesty from penalty for businesses who owe money on Business Privilege Tax from previous years. That amnesty period also expires on July 15th.
According to the Township solicitor, a recently passed state bill allows municipalities to take action like this during times of crisis.
