The Butler Township commissioners have set a date and time for a hearing about next year’s budget.
The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 2 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Butler Township Municipal Building.
As they have in years past, department heads will make presentations about the amount of money they will need in the upcoming year.
According to Township Manager Ed Kirkwood, between 40 and 50 assessment appeals have been decided in favor of the petitioner in the past year, plus almost 30 more have been filed. This will result in a reduction of nearly $4,000 in property tax revenue for the township for the upcoming year.
