Butler Township is continuing to move forward with the first phase of plans for recreation property at Pullman Business Park.
After hearing from Butler Township Manager Tom Knights at their Monday night meeting, the Township’s Commissioners approved a plan centered on the creation of a soccer field with artificial turf that could also be used for lacrosse.
This part of the project will be located within the City of Butler and also include two sets of bleachers, a concessions and mechanical building, restrooms, a paved walking trail, and a 68 space parking area.
The facility will be put out to bid in the spring with work expected to get underway later this year.
The improvement of traffic at the intersection of Hansen Avenue and Whitestown Road is not connected to the recreation project but work could be underway at the same time.
