The Butler Township Commissioners have given approval for the next phase of a housing plan divided between Butler and Center Townships.
After hearing from the developer of the Duffy Highlands plan off North Duffy Road, the commissioners decided to approve the subdivision.
This four phase plan for the Brennan Homes development near the VA Butler Healthcare Abie Abrahams facility was first presented in 2018 with 111 units. Phase one in Center Township is complete while phase two, also in Center Township, is under construction.
Even though phase three in Butler Township includes 34 home sites on about 20 acres, the rest of this complex is located in Center Township. Township officials have agreed to an inter-municipal deal to govern how road maintenance responsibilities will be divided.
