Butler Township has been awarded a grant to improve local traffic conditions.
The Township has accepted a nearly $44,000 grant through the Penn DOT Green-Light-Go Program to make improvements at three intersections on Whitestown Road. Those intersections include where Whitestown crosses South Duffy, Eberhart, and Meridian roads.
The township will provide a local match of equal amount to install state of the art traffic signal controllers, new signage, reflective back plates, and emergency vehicle preemptors. The township’s contribution will be drawn from money available in their general fund.
The planning for this project will begin this October with anticipated completion around June of 2017. The Green-Light-Go Project is funded through Act 89 and will be managed by Penn DOT.
