The Butler Township Planning Commission has recommended approval for the next phase of a housing plan partially in Butler and Center Townships.
After hearing from the developer of the Duffy Highlands plan off North Duffy Road, the commission decided to send their recommendation of the plan on to be considered by the Butler Township Commissioners at their meeting later this month.
This plan for the Brennan Homes development near the VA Butler Healthcare Abie Abrahams facility was first presented in 2018 with 111 units constructed over four phases. Phase one in Center Township is complete while phase two is under construction, also in Center Township. Phase three in Butler Township includes about 20 acres.
Since the majority of this complex is located in Center Township, the municipalities have agreed to an inter-governmental deal to determine road maintenance responsibilities.
