Butler Township is applying for state funding in order to help pay for an upcoming storm water project.
Butler Township Commissioners have given approval for an application to the PA Small Water and Sewer Grant Program for a grant of just over $300,000 of which about $48,000 would be local matching funds.
If received, this funding would be used for the instillation of storm sewer pipe in the Highfield Storm Sewer project which is planned for 2020. The project is expected to move forward even if grant funding is not awarded.
The township is not expecting to be notified of a decision about the grant until sometime in the fall of 2020.
