Butler Township is once again applying for grant money in order to make improvements to a local recreation facility.
Township Commissioners passed a resolution Monday night to comply with the requirements of the Butler County Parks Renovation Program in order to file their application before it is due later this month.
According to Township Manager Tom Knights, this year the money is being requested to purchase two combination soccer goals and field goal posts for use at the Pullman Recreation Complex field. The total cost is just over $7,000 of which the township would contribute nearly $2,000.
Once the application has been submitted, a committee from the county is expected to review requests and decide which ones can be funded with notification issued sometime in late April or early May.
