The Butler Girl’s and Boy’s Track & Field teams had select athletes qualify for the New Balance Outdoor Nationals this weekend at Aggie Stadium on the campus of North Carolina A&T University.
In the 4×800 Meter Relay Championship Division – the team of Chesna Tomko, Maggie Welty, Erin LeMay and Liz Simms finish eleventh in the country with a time of 9:15.81. It was the girl’s fastest time of the season and fastest in Butler history! The girl’s had great splits with Tomko starting with a 2:15.27, Welty went 2:16.05 and Simms wrapped it up at 2:15.86. In the 4×400 Meter Relay Championship Division – the team of Maddie Tonini, Chesna Tomko, Maggie Welty and Liz Simms placed 15th in the country with a time of 3:55.72. In the Emerging Elite Division Discus Throw – Jena Reinheimer placed 2nd with a throw of 132-1.
For the Boy’s – the Championship Division of the Distance Medley relay – the team of Brett Brady, Jake Wolfrum, Doug Kostelansky and Noah Beveridge placed eleventh in the country with a time of 10:17.79. Noah Beveridge blistered his 1600 leg with a split of 4:12.52. on Friday – Noah Beveridge placed fifteenth in the country in the 5000 Meters with a time 15:13.54
