Butler Township plans to continue to enforce amplified sound disputes within the municipality.
The Butler Township commissioners approved a resolution and petition to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board to continue the township’s exemption from enforcement by Liquor Control officers.
After a hearing in December of 2015, Butler Township was granted the exemption- lasting a year- but another public hearing at an undetermined date and time is needed to renew that exemption for an additional three to five years.
According to Butler Township Police Chief John Hays, the three noise-related complaints that his office has received over the past year have been resolved quickly and without incident. None of those complaints involved the Rock Ann Haven restaurant and bar, which was at the center of an noise-related dispute with a neighbor leading to the first petition from the township in 2015.
