Butler Township is selling a piece of property to the owner of a local car dealership.
Denny Baglier of Baglier Buick submitted the high bid of $306,000 for the 7.6 acres off Comfort Lane near the Comfort Inn. It is thought he will use the property to store vehicles.
A second bidder with a lower offer planned to develop the property but the township is mandated by law to go with the higher bid.
The property was donated to the township 15 years ago by Premier Hospitality Incorporated with the idea of constructing a skating rink but has been vacant after those plans fell through. A recent appraisal of the property placed a value of $260,000 on the parcel.
