Butler Township will again take part in a nationwide initiative to help build bridges with residents and fight crime.
National Night Out is an annual event promoting police-community partnerships and camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer. Butler Township police officers, firefighters and township commissioners will be in the parking lot of Kiddie City off Whitestown Road at 6 p.m. to meet with residents and neighbors.
Communities across the country will hold similar events tonight.
Light refreshments will be provided by the local neighborhood watch group in Butler Township but those attending are encouraged to bring a chair.
