Local Veterans, Active Service Members and members of the public are invited to attend a special gathering later this week.
Friday, Major General Peter J Talleri will visit the Senior High School Cafeteria for a meet and greet and speech beginning at 4 p.m.
Then, he will receive his Hometown Hero award during a ceremony at Art Bernardi Stadium around 6:30 p.m. Admission to the game is free for veterans and active military personnel with proof of service.
Talleri is being honored by the Butler Football Hometown Hero Organization for his military service career and his former years as a Butler Golden Tornado Football player.
