A student at Butler Area School District’s Center Avenue School has been suspended for making a threat.
According to a letter issued by Superintendent Dr. Brian White, the student made a verbal statement Monday afternoon that he was going to “shoot up” the school before asking if anyone wanted to join him.
Local law enforcement has been notified and the student will have a disciplinary hearing with the Butler School Board where further discipline and consequences will be determined.
Anyone who sees or hears disturbing statements involving schools or students is asked to report the situation immediately to the district or law enforcement.
