A Butler High School student is accused of threatening to shoot another student.
Charges were filed Tuesday against the unidentified 15-year-old boy by Butler Township Police.
Lt. Matt Pearson said the boy made the threat via Snapchat earlier this month, on May 9, during school hours. The suspect allegedly sent a Snapchat to another student that threatened a 17-year-old boy.
The suspect was immediately detained by Butler County juvenile probation authorities and the threat was neutralized.
“The school notified us, we investigated and filed the charges,” Pearson said.
The 15-year-old is now facing terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct charges and remains in the custody of juvenile court services.
