There could be a major change to the entrance of the Butler Senior High School.
At last night’s school board meeting, district officials heard plans from architectural firm IKM that would change the main entrance of the school to where the current library is located.
The proposed plan is the third phase of security upgrades at the Senior High.
The total cost of this project is expected to be around $1.3 million with funding drawn from a $9.7 million capital projects bond taken out by the district nearly two years ago.
The School Board took action to have additional drawings prepared with tentative plans to put the project out to bid in the spring and begin construction in the summer of 2020 for completion in 12 to 18 months from now.
