For the second day in a row, the Butler Area School District will dismiss students two hours early on Wednesday due to the high temperatures.
All students in all district schools are affected. Lunch will still be served and it will count as a full day of school.
After-school activities- including athletics- may be canceled or rescheduled for later in the evening. Activity advisors or coaches will provide additional specific information.
Butler’s superintendent said the early dismissals are a short-term solution and he will work with the school board to develop a long-term plan.
Temperatures are expected to hit into the 90s again Wednesday afternoon.
