The Butler Area School District is continuing the process of trying to find a buyer for the former Broad Street Elementary School.
The school board voted Monday night to solicit real estate services to market the Broad Street property as it was appraised, which includes the playground.
Repeated conversations with the owners and representatives of J.M. Beatty Furniture have not resulted in a new deal being proposed. The board hopes to receive results from their solicitation for services in about 30 days.
In the meantime, a hearing for the sale of the former Meridian and Clearfield elementary school properties is scheduled for June 2. No consensus has been reached about plans for the former Oakland Elementary School.
