Enrollment at the Butler Area School District continues to decline.
According to Superintendent Dr. Brian White, a total of roughly 6,400 students currently attend school in Butler, which is about 150 less than last year.
Over the past five years, the district has lost 11 percent of its students and is expected to lose another 8 percent over the next five years, according to data presented during Monday’s school board meeting by Superintendent Brian White.
Data shows other Butler County school districts, including South Butler, Slippery Rock and Karns City, are also expected to experience a decline in enrollment.
