The Butler Area School Board looks largely the same following this year’s annual reorganization meeting.
By identical votes of 5-3, Nina Teff was re-elected President and Jennifer Cummings was chosen to continue as Vice President of the 2017 board.
Board member Bill Halle abstained from both votes saying he believes until the board is willing to operate differently than it has in the past, it doesn’t make much of a difference who has a leadership position.
One change to the board’s committee meetings was made so that now the Education Committee will meet from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. the second Monday of most months with the Finance Committee following from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Those meetings had been held simultaneously from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for the past year.
