It sure was windy in Butler County on Sunday, but it wasn’t the windiest spot in the region.
According to the National Weather Service, the peak wind in the region was 74 miles per hour in Canaan Heights, which is in Tucker County, West Virginia. Several locations reported gusts over 60 mph.
In Butler County, a 53 mph wind was reported at 12:14 p.m. on Sunday in Butler. A 45 mph wind was reported at 2:28 a.m. on Monday near Portersville. A 40 mph wind was reported near Fox Run in Cranberry Township at 2:16 p.m. Sunday.
