Hockey:
Cody Reep scored the winning goal in overtime on as assist from Trevor Ackelson to lead the Butler Middle School Hockey Team to a 5-4 victory over Beaver in the PIHL Tier 3 Championship Game at Ice Castle. Brayden Povlick and Reep each had 2 goals for Butler, with Reep also adding an asist. Ackelson had 2 assists in the game. Ronald Kuczynski also scored a goal, while Tristan McGarrah and Carter Bohonak each had an assist. Goalie EJ Delaney had 21 saves for Butler.
–Seneca Valley will meet St. Joseph’s Prep in the 3A Pennsylvania Cup state championship game Saturday in West Chester. Face-off is 4pm. Armstrong will face Downingtown East in the 2A state championship game at 1:30pm.
–The PIAA basketball schedule has been adjusted for the second time this week because of winter weather.
The state semifinal games which had been postponed until today, will now be played Saturday. The PIAA championship games have been pushed back into next week.
–The Mars and Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic games will now be played in State College Saturday. Mars will meet Archbishop Wood at 1pm. North Catholic will meet Berks Catholic at 2:30pm.
–The Pine-Richland boys will meet Philadelphia Roman Catholic Saturday at Chambersburg high school, with tipoff at 1pm.
