Beginning this Monday, people calling in to Butler Memorial Hospital looking for information about a patient will need to provide a code.
Butler Health System will give the four digit privacy code to each person admitted to the hospital.
Patients can share this code with family or caregivers they want to be able to access information about their stay over the phone.
This change was recommended by the Patient and Family Partnership Council for Quality and Safety, which is a group of eight community members and help system representatives. The council makes recommendations to Butler Health System about ways to put families and patients first as well as promote quality, safety, and positive experiences.
