Police have charged a Butler mechanic for performing safety inspections on vehicles when he was allegedly not licensed to do so.
State Police say Michael Yockey, 25, fraudulently conducted state inspections on about 75 vehicles while employed at Monro Muffler in Butler Township. The inspections were performed between June and December of 2014.
Yockey’s boss (36-year-old John Lutz Jr. of Ellwood City) has also been charged after police say he signing government documents stating that he did the inspections when he did not.
