A local organization is celebrating their golden anniversary this year of helping those in our community in need of food assistance.
It’s the 50th anniversary of Butler Meals On Wheels. The organization was started back in 1969 with 13 clients. Now, the group helps feed more than 100 clients on a day-to-day basis.
Butler Meals On Wheels is having one of their four yearly fundraising dinners this Tuesday, Jan. 15 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at St. Peter’s Anglican Church.
An official 50th anniversary celebration is planned for November.
