A local man is facing several charges related to disposing of a gun near the Butler Public Library.
According to a criminal complaint, 22-year-old James Howard-George was observed by a witness and on surveillance video putting a semi-automatic handgun into a dumpster Saturday afternoon (2/20).
Howard-George was accompanied by an 11-year-old girl who he allegedly allowed to handle the loaded gun.
Howard-George has been charged with felony possession of a firearm without a license as well as misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors, and reckless endangerment. He is currently in the Butler County Prison awaiting a hearing.
