A Butler man is in jail after repeated acts of retail theft.
According to a criminal complaint, Butler City Police were called to the Dollar General around 10 a.m. Saturday (4/16) and immediately recognized 63-year-old John Kurtz.
Kurtz was observed by a store clerk as well as a witness attempting to leave the store with various hygiene items he had not paid for. 15 items worth about $48 from Dollar General were recovered and an additional six items worth around $55 allegedly taken from Rite Aid were found in a bag belonging to Kurtz.
Kurtz has 11 prior retail theft convictions and is in Butler County Prison on Felony Retail Theft charges.
