Later today, a Butler man will be awarded a one million dollar check from the Pennsylvania Lottery.
After seeing a sign at the Sheetz on New Castle Road that a million-dollar ticket was sold at that location, Jacob Parkinson remembered he had purchased a ticket from that location. A day later he figured out that he had won a million dollars.
“I thought to myself that I just bought one of those tickets, I wonder if that was me,” Parkinson said. “I figured there was no way it was me. It was like a week that went by before I found out about it.”
Parkinson also said he doesn’t play the lottery often and that he never expected to win.
Parkinson is a truck driver and plans on using the money to pay off his mortgage and invest the rest so he can retire early.
