A Butler man is in jail after police say he attacked an officer.
Brian Sharpe, 20, was arrested on Christmas Eve after officers were called to a home on 219 South Church Street to investigate a trespassing incident after a woman called 911 to report a man had broken into her house.
Officers say they found Sharpe outside the home- irate and screaming. Sharpe is then accused of attacking a Butler City Police officer.
Other officers were able to user a Taser on Sharpe. He was then into custody.
City police Chief Bob O’Neill said the officer suffered minor injuries and returned to work.
Prior to police arrival, Sharpe forced his way into the residence yelling and screaming and broke the rear window prior to police arrival, according to police.
