Butler County continued to have the lowest unemployment rate in the area’s seven-county region in June.
According to the latest report by the state Department of Labor & Industry, Butler maintained the lowest rate at 4.6 percent. The highest in the region was Fayette County at 7.1 percent.
Experts say seasonal summer hiring spurred improvement throughout the region’s job market as 6,700 workers were added to payrolls.
