Jazz and big band music are planned when multiple ensembles come together at a local event later this week.
The Butler Jazz Festival will begin at 6:30 p.m. this Tuesday, April 4 at the Butler Intermediate High School.
The show will begin with performances by the Butler Jazz Ensemble and Mars Jazz Band as well as the Butler Tornado Big Band. The evening will conclude with the Balcony Big Band, an 18-member modern jazz ensemble that has played regularly at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille since 2012. This group was created in 1988 based in Pittsburgh and has evolved to focus on educational outreach.
Admission to this unique and exciting show is $5.
