The Butler Area School District has hired a new administrator.
At Monday’s meeting, the Butler school board approved a personnel report that included the hiring of Dr. Laura Miller as the district’s next Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Development. Miller replaces current director Julie Hopp who is relocating.
Miller previously worked as the Training and Consultation Coordinator with the Allegheny Intermediate Unit 3. Before that, she was an Assistant Principal at Forest Hills Elementary School. Miller earned degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Clarion University, and Point Park University.
This position provides leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating instructional services, federal programs, and other research. Miller will be paid a salary of nearly $148,000 per year and begin her new role sometime before Hopp finishes her employment.
