Butler Senior High School is receiving recognition from the Special Olympics.
Last week, the Senior High School was named a 2024 National Banner Unified Champion School. They were only one of four schools in Pennsylvania to receive the honor.
Special Olympics officials say Butler has “a very inclusive school climate and exudes a high sense of collaboration, engagement, and respect for all members of the student body and staff.”
Butler High School has numerous collaborative programs for special education students, including the unified bocce and track and field teams.
