April is National Donate Life Month, and the Butler Health System is encouraging everyone to become an organ donor.
According to BHS, there are more than 2,500 in the Western Pennsylvania region waiting for an organ transplant.
Just one donor can save the lives of up to eight individuals in need as while tissue donors can improve the lives of more than 100. There are no restrictions on being a donor due to age, race, or medical history.
People can sign up to become an organ donor through the website of the Center for Organ Recovery and Education.
