Girls Soccer:
Butler-4 North Hills-0. Hannah Hays had two goals for the Golden Tornado. Liz Simms added a goal and Alexis Leech scored on a penalty kick. The victory clinched a playoff spot for the first time in 13 years. Butler is now 9-4 overall and 5-3 in section play. They visit N.A. Monday.
Karns City remained unbeaten with a 7-0 victory over Forest Area. Megan McCartney scored a hat trick and added an assist for the Gremlins. Haley Scherer added two goals.
Knoch-9 McKeesport-0. Lindsie Galbreath had a hat trick for the Knights.
Seneca Valley-7 Shaler-0.
Pine-Richland-6 North Allegheny-0.

Knoch-3 Lincoln Park-0.
Madie Smithco of Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic was the runner-up Wednesday at the WPIAL Class 2A championship at Treesdale Golf and Country Club. Smithco will move on to the PIAA Western Regional Championship October 17th at Tom’s Run in Blairsville.
Caroline Wrigley of North Allegheny won the WPIAL Class-3A championship Wednesday at Treesdale. Lauren Freyvogel of Pine-Richland was third. They also qualified for the regional event.
